It is indeed a pretty happy Sunday. I’m sitting in the sun right now soaking up a few rays.
Gary had to be at work at 6:30 this morning for part of his training. I slept in for a little while, but eventually got up to water my flowers. It was a little late in the morning to be doing that, but they really needed it. Thankfully, it’s overcast today, so at least they weren’t scorching in the sun.
Of course, I awoke to two hungry kids. Gage never stops eating at this age. From the time his feet hit the ground until the time his head hits the pillow, he’s eating. It’s unreal how much food he can put away.
Harper is my child who struggles a little with her weight, and it drives her crazy because she really doesn’t eat that much. She did wake up hungry this morning, though, because she went to bed really early last night. I think it’s frustrating for her to watch her brother eat anything and everything while staying naturally thin. Like I keep telling her, it may catch up with him at some point, but you just never know.
She’s my kid who eats salads, vegetables, and all the healthy things. He’s my kid who lives on junk. Genetics are pretty crazy, and they’re both at ages where they’ll probably change a lot over the next few years.
I’m going to settle in and watch church from the comfort of my bedroom. Gary is going to watch remotely while he’s on his break, and I’m not really sure when he’ll be home. Today is Sunday, so they make double time. If there were ever a day to stay late, this would be the one. I’m not quite sure when to expect him.
He sure had a good day yesterday. He got to watch his Saints football and all of his UFC fights. Ha! It doesn’t take much to make him happy, just full access to the television. It’s funny because he’s never really considered himself a TV guy, but he loves his sports. He loves Big Brother, too, and has certain shows he gets really into, so I guess he can’t say he isn’t a TV guy anymore.
I suppose we all become TV people eventually, with all the different ways to stream shows now. We do go through seasons when we hardly watch it at all, though, and I think that’s a good thing. If we had shows coming on all year long, I would become a total procrastinator and never get anything done.
Today, I’m trying to knock out the last little bit of laundry. It’s mostly just what the kids wore to school last week, but I still want to get it washed and put away so we can begin a new week without a bunch of little things hanging over my head.
I haven’t had much time to sit down and read everyone’s blogs lately. I usually try to do that throughout the week, but everything has been a little fast-paced since school started back. It always takes a little while to settle into a new routine.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and had a wonderful weekend.
