ChatGPT has changed. I really don’t like it anymore. Does anyone else have issues with it trying to change your opinions when you write something?
I like to use it for spellcheck and grammar when I write really long posts or substacks because I am the world’s worst at typos because I admittedly use voice to text a lot. I’m sure my southern drawl doesn’t help with a lot of errors either. 😂
It just seems like it tries to correct my thinking now more than it ever has. It’ll say things like. “I just want to gently push back here” or it will just change my wording completely.
I do realize that if I prompt it first to ‘not change anything- only my grammar’ that it won’t do that, but it just seems like I shouldn’t have to say that for it to not take my opinion and go in a completely different direction with it.
I don’t know, it’s just irritates me. I need to go back to using word or something else for spell checking. Has anyone else noticed that? It’s like it’s becoming more politically correct, and trying a little too hard to stay unbiased. AI should be a tool. It shouldn’t try to change your thoughts.
It’s kind of an aggravation every time I try to write anything involving politics. And it’s not because the things I’m saying aren’t true, because that would be understandable, but it’s insinuating that I’m being controversial or going to offend people. I mean, hell… that’s part of what’s wrong with our society right now.
As long as it can be backed up with facts, there should be no reason that I can’t say it. But quite honestly- even if it’s just my opinion and I can’t prove it, but it also can’t prove otherwise – I’m entitled to say that too.
I don’t know.. AI is kind of creepy honestly.
Maybe we should all be done with it. It might honestly be the best thing for it to just go away entirely. it’s a shame because it’s really helpful for a lot of things. It’s helped me find dental surgeon and restaurants in my area and it’s even helped me troubleshoot my washer and other things around the house, but I don’t like it trying to change my mind about things that are important to me.
I’m curious what other people‘s opinions are about it.
BTW, I did not have it help me with my grammar on this post because I don’t want it to murder me in my sleep, so if there’s any typos, you’re just gonna have to ignore them. 💁🏼♀️
