Today was sweet, but kind of quiet. After a long day in the pool, we spent the evening in our rocking chairs watching the kids play before heading down to the boat launch to watch the sunset. It was beautiful.
Earlier today, our little Yorkie, Bowser, collapsed outside in the heat. He wandered off, which he’s never done before, and Gage found him lying in the yard by the shed. By the time Gary got to him, he was limp and breathing hard. We honestly thought we were losing him. Gary slowly cooled him down in the bathtub, and thankfully he came around and even drank a little water.
He’s almost completely blind now, so we’ll have to make sure he doesn’t wander off again. We’re just so thankful he’s still here.
When we adopted Bowser, he had nearly starved after being found living with a person who had passed away. Since then he’s had one health issue after another, but I truly believe we’ve given him the best life we possibly could. We love that little dog so much, and I’m so thankful he ended up with our family. 🤍
It would’ve been a heartbreaking way to remember the Fourth of July. Thankfully, it just wasn’t his time.
