Obi-Wan Kenobi, and honestly it would not even be a contest. Obi-Wan is the only man in the galaxy who could walk into that race, smile warmly at the crowd, and have everyone immediately wondering why they ever followed a guy in a breathing apparatus to begin with. Vader inspires fear. Obi-Wan inspires loyalty, and those are not the same thing.

Here is the best part though. Obi-Wan trained Vader. He knows every single weakness, every pressure point, every moment where Anakin Skywalker is still in there behind that mask. That is not just opposition research, that is a complete biography with footnotes. One debate, one sad knowing look across the stage, and Vader’s entire intimidating brand just crumbles. Obi-Wan would not even have to throw a punch. He never really does.

Palpatine thought he was being clever. He was not accounting for the one candidate in the galaxy who is genuinely, infuriatingly good and somehow makes that look effortless. My vote is Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Empire never stood a chance.
