I keep forgetting about my blog and I’ve pretty much abandoned doing the prompts. I’ve gotten really into Substack this year and it’s kind of become my place to write. ✍🏼

I wish I could combine them, but I don’t wanna make my personal blog entirely about politics and opinion. I feel like this is my space to just talk about my day and to share what’s going on in my life I look to look back and see what I was doing, where we were going and what was going on. It feels very much like my little personal journal as opposed to a talking piece for everyone to listen to and scrutinize. 😆

Well, we had a wonderful long weekend. I guess I can’t really call them long weekends when the kids are out of school but it felt like a long weekend for us because Gary was off for five days.

We went ahead and gave him his Father’s Day gifts so he could enjoy them. He’s working ALL weekend next weekend. We got him a pressure washer and a few pairs of shorts and a shirts that he needed.

I kind of had to give him the pressure washer early because he was gonna rent one Saturday.

We really had fun with the kids this weekend too. We took them to the movies, out to eat, to the river and to a local candy shop. Thankfully they didn’t eat too much candy because I got a pretty good report at the dentist this morning. 🙂

We had a trip to Opal Beach planned, and that fell apart due to this weather. They were kind of bummed out about it, but we made up for it.

I personally love this kind of weather. It has turned into a tropical storm that’s moving in for this weekend. It’s already rained so much, and I heard our neighborhood water pumps turn on about 4 AM.

I’m a sunshine girly, but every once in a while, we just need a really good rain to wash everything away. My plants have been screaming for rain the last few weeks.

I don’t know the rain just makes me smile. It makes me feel relaxed. Even though I feel like we did a lot the last few days we got a lot of good just relaxing, laying in the bed, snuggling family time.

Gary and I watched two seasons of one of our shows we watched. We just didn’t go to get up. We kept laughing at ourselves because we kept saying OK one more episode. 😆

We ended up eating dinner in bed last night and I woke up sleeping on his chest around 4 when the pumps turned on. I don’t ever sleep on my husband‘s chest because he snores so bad. I lay on his chest when we’re watching TV but for me to actually stay there like that all night means I was really in a deep sleep. 🤣 I think we must’ve fallen asleep around 10 o’clock. We were out. His alarm was about to go off at 4:15 anyway so we just got up and let the dogs out for a minute and said our goodbyes.

Gary has a pretty busy work schedule this week so the kids and I are just going to enjoy these rainy days watching movies, making art, swimming in the rain (my favorite!) and baking 🙂

Well make up for their beach trip next week. 🤍 Life is good!!
