I’m in the best mood today. I had a great doctor’s appointment this morning, which I was dreading. My inflammation bench markers were really low, and that tells me that everything I’ve been doing has been paying off!
That’s pretty exciting. My doctor seemed very happy with me and I’m pretty happy with myself 🙂
I have a house full of kids again, which I have a feeling is going to be pretty par for the course this summer.
I honestly don’t mind. Gary is on an insane work schedule this week- when he finishes he’ll have almost 71 hours. It’s certainly not mandatory but he is trying to help out in areas where they need it right now.
It’s kinda nice to have all the kids here when he’s gone. The girls are very helpful around the house and the boys too honestly. Gage and his friends put salt in the pool today, took the garbage cans out to the road and brought them back after the garbage ran, and he helped water my flowers. Norah Harper and her little friend loaded and unloaded the dishwasher, got her room back really straight and they’re helping me make dinner tonight 🙂
We’re making teriyaki chicken thighs, baked potatoes, green beans, and a salad. I’m of course having a sweet potato, but I am looking forward to the teriyaki chicken.
Today was kind of crazy. I had to ride around the neighborhood on my bike, trying to find my Amazon package. I could tell from the picture there was a red door, and red brick on the house with a blue rocking chair. I should’ve sent the kids to do that, but I knew if I got them all out on bikes I’d never get them back home. 🤣 I finally found it, but it took about an hour. It was at the back of the neighborhood by one of the houses on the water. No one was home, so I just rang their doorbell and told them who I was on the ring cam and what I was doing and grabbed my package.
That was pretty funny. Gary happened to be on his lunch break so I was FaceTiming with him. He got a big kick out of that. lol
That’s about all the news I have. We’ve just been hanging outside ever since. I’ve set my iPad a little desk up out here on the back porch, where I can watch the kids swim. It’s really nice. There’s no AC out here (obviously it’s a screen room), but those two ceiling fans really circulate a lot of air. Gary replaced them last year and they are so much better than the ones we had out there prior. It really makes it tolerable even on really hot days.
I imagine I’ll be spending quite a bit of time out here this summer. I need to get my art desk out there and set it up where I can start painting again now that my back is better. I’d like to put my pottery wheel out there too. I bought some awesome throwing clay right before I put my back out last year and I’ve never even opened it. It’s supposed to be really good clay that’s easy to work with..
I’ll get it all situated out there eventually. It’s a great space now that we move that big table out of there.
It’s mostly an area for the kids and dogs now, but the whole backspace is totally empty.

There’s definitely enough room for my wheel and my art desk. I feel like if I got it all put out there the kids would enjoy painting and drawing too. Gage is amazing with the modeling clay stuff. They did that several times in his art class last year and he got really good at it. I think that’s kind of his teacher’s thing, so they kept circling back to sculpting throughout the year. That and bead work, which he wasn’t very into at all. He said all the girls loved it though lol
I will have to take some pictures of all his figurines he made. I was truly impressed with them.
Well, we’re off to a pretty good start for summer. Starting to get into a little bit of a rhythm of getting up and getting out in the sunshine and enjoying our day. I’m admittedly not that great at being productive during the winter but in the summertime I like to get the most out of my days it just makes me feel good! Summer is about good music, good food and good company.
All right friends, if I don’t hop on here tomorrow, I hope y’all have a great weekend!!
