I haven’t been on here much so I thought I’d check in.

We officially have a middle schooler now! We took Norah Harper to lunch on the beach to celebrate her fifth grade graduation today.

It was kind of rainy and dreary, so we didn’t go on the beach as planned, but that’s OK. If we had waited about 40 minutes, it probably would’ve cleared, but I think we were just ready to get home. It was pretty crowded today too. I’m sure that’s because it’s Santa Rosa’s first day of summer.

I am cleaning baseboards today and cleaning doors so we can paint everything this weekend. We’re touching up the trim, baseboards and all of the bedroom doors and door frames. I’m assuming this will be a project that will take us several days, but we got a good jump on it. Most of the baseboards don’t even need repainting. They just needed a good cleaning. Gary got them looking so good with a little bleach and water! But there are still a few places where some paint is scratched in the dining room, probably from moving furniture and a few places where it looks like maybe the dogs have scratched on it.

Looks like we have a lot of rain in the forecast for the next week, but hopefully they’ll be some little moments of sunshine so we can get in the pool get a little sun. Maybe we can try to go to the beach Monday or Tuesday when it’s not so crowded.

I’m gonna get back to it. We’re just doing just anything and everything that needs to be done around the house to get it feeling good for summer. I have the kids working on their rooms today. They’re getting rid of any clothes that they don’t think fit well and any toys, books or games that they don’t play with anymore. They’re also cleaning out their backpacks for the end of the year.

All that makes such a big difference. They’re constantly bringing new things into their rooms and not getting rid of old stuff. Before you know it – it’s just taken over.

Alright friends! I hope y’all have a fantastic weekend!!
