I am so tired tonight.

We had a lovely dinner in Pensacola, and took a quick little walk to the beach to see the sunset, which ended up being very overcast after a downpour, but we did see a beautiful double rainbow.

We did stop close to the river and got a few pictures before we got home.

Dinner was amazing, but we were all so tired. We’ve been doing a lot of painting and housework.

We’ve decided to paint our bathrooms, Aruba green. It’s a very trendy coastal color right now. It’s the color. Sometimes that’s kind of a turn off for me because when things get that popular many times they go out of style pretty quickly, but I keep going back to this color because I like it so much and it makes me feel happy when I look at it. I really wanted to paint my ceiling in my dining room, but I chickened out and ended up going with something much lighter.

I love it. I know- It’s very bright, but I think it will go really well with the rest of the house. I’m pretty eclectic with color.

My friend Shookie knew I was considering it and sent me a picture of one of the dining rooms in the Saint Francisville Inn, and it has the same color on the ceiling and I absolutely love it. It’s funky, but it’s charming. It reminds me of a brighter shade of old vintage milk glass. That’s why I wanted it on my dining room ceiling, and if I have enough paint left, that’s probably still gonna happen.

I’m just ready to get rid of this drab grayish blue. I also think it’s gonna look really good with the sailboat painting. I painted that years ago, but I just can’t get rid of it. It’ll definitely be in our next house too.

The hardest part of all of this is that we’re gonna be scraping the popcorn ceilings and painting the ceilings. I love painted ceilings. We have removed the popcorn ceilings from the whole house except for our bathroom and the kids bathroom so it’s due.

Speaking of the kids bathroom -We’re gonna paint it too- the same color and I’m gonna switch their shower curtain. I love the one they have now and I’m gonna keep it for later, but I just want a change for a little while. I actually found this on the Sam’s Club website and thought it was kind of cute. The blue will match the cabinets in the green is almost exactly that Aruba green. 

I think I’m gonna go buy some canvas this weekend and paint a few things with that color green to hang on the walls. What you can’t see in our bathroom, is if you take a left there’s an area that goes back to Garys walk-in shower. There’s a wall with a few pictures and a shelf there for towels, but the pictures I have hanging there are not going to match anymore.

I also need to paint two small canvases to go in the kids bathroom.

I might could just find something online, but I think it would almost be easier to match it and paint something myself.

I’m basically winging it. 🤪😆

Anyway, that’s the plan. I’m not sure if we’ll finish all that this week or just of wait until next weekend, but we have all the paint and stuff ready to go. Gary told me not to make any plans for Friday- that he has a birthday surprise for me so I’m not sure what that is gonna be but I know I’m going to be painting this week one way or another. 🤪💁🏼‍♀️

Oh.. and my kids have three more days of school left!!

Woooo hoooooo!!! Bring on pool days and late sleeps!! I’m so ready!!!

Speak of sleep- I am beyond ready.
