Good morning! I finally got the kids off to school. Gage’s bus ran late today. That turned out to be a good thing though, because my neighbor called me to see if my bus app was working, and we’ve decided to go walking after lunch- which I really need to do. It’s so much nicer to go walking through the neighborhood than it is to get on the treadmill. Which admittedly, I haven’t been doing but a couple of times a week. I said I was gonna start back every day, but that’s not gonna happen.

Speaking of our neighborhood, check out the little alligator that was in our ditch yesterday after the rain. This is why I tell my kids don’t just go running in to the woods here, or down into the ditches without really looking.

We had alligators everywhere at our last house, but I try to remind our kids that they’re here too, even though they don’t see them every day. We just don’t see them as much because they stay behind our house under the bridge. But when it rains like it did yesterday, they are subject to go anywhere.

We also have black bears and peacocks that come through the neighborhood from time to time and get in everyone’s garbage cans (the bears not the peacocks) hah. They are typically not a problem, but they are bears, and some of them get pretty big. The peacocks are just really loud and funny. Every once in a while, Clementine will be in the front window and start going crazy when they are walking up the street. 😂

I’ve never gotten any good photos of them. I have to try to do that this summer. They typically come through in the mornings and late afternoon. I’m not sure where they come from, but they seem to have a little route, that they take.

I usually get a little bit down, but I haven’t this year. I know where my Mom is, and it’s a much better place than this is. I just have so much gratitude for the life she gave me and an incredible mother that she was for the time that I had her. What a reunion it will be when we’re together again one day!!!
