Well, this has been a completely uneventful weekend. In a good way.
We really didn’t do much at all. Gary and I did go to the mall and he got a pair of cowboy boots, and some Ariat Jeans at Buckle. He’s been wanting some square toe cowboy boots for a while. His work boots are cowboy boots with a steel toe and I think he really likes the way they look. I definitely do.
They also wear the fireproof bootcut Ariat jeans and they look so good on him. I grew up around a lot of Cowboys and my dad never wore anything but cowboy boots, so I love that look. I prefer it to that “country boy” look. I’m not into the whole fishing shirts and camo thing. Gary’s not a hunter. He likes to fish leisurely, but he’s no fisherman. But a good looking pair of jeans, a good looking pair of boots on a good looking man is OK by me!! Hah. Every once in a while, he puts on my daddy‘s Stetson hat when he’s in our closet and he’ll come out and do a little dance. 🤣🤣🤣 I absolutely love it on him. He may end up wearing that hat one day after all 🙂
Oh and I picked up these cuties for myself. They’re so comfy. It’s the same ones I picked up for Norah’s dance. I put hers on and couldn’t get over how comfortable they were. She wears a half size smaller than myself, but even though they were tight I could’ve worn them all day bc they felt so good! So, I went back and grabbed them and got the very last size 7.5 in stock!

But that’s it. Other than that, I’ve been home all weekend.
Gary’s office has a ton of things happening right now, so he’s been at work a lot. They’re installing a lot of new machinery and doing major overhauls. He was gonna take take off today so we could go to Fort Pickens and let the kids run around the island, but when we looked at the weather last night, we knew that was probably not gonna happen. And of course, we did wake up to rain, so he decided to go in and work a few hours to help out.
He’s already deep in overtime, and on Sundays they get double time, so why not? We watched church online before he left and had a quick brunch. Smothered Grits and an arugula salad. Yum!
I guess we’ll just try to go next weekend, unless they decide they wanna do something else. They really like being home. They’d rather swim and play in their neighborhood and yard than go anywhere else usually, but I do think it’s good to get them out and go explore new places. I’d kinda like to do it before it gets really hot.
I don’t know. I’m just a homebody. I could go anywhere I wanted to, but I’d rather be here. I always said when I had kids I really wanted to make my home a place that they enjoyed being, and somewhere they didn’t have to feel like we had to get out and escape from every day. I think we’ve done that. That makes me happy.
I never have a whole lot of news to tell, life is pretty simple. Simple is good.
