Today was a nice day. Gary and I finally got to go for a nice meal by ourselves. I had a reservations in Pensacola for his birthday/anniversary, but we never made it because he was so sick. Then I got sick and then the kids got sick and it seems like since then it’s been one thing after another, so, today we finally got to sit down and enjoy a lovely meal.
Eating out is a little more complicated trying to remain in a calorie deficit every day, but it is doable. The most important thing is portion. I came home with more than I ate, but I did let myself order whatever I wanted. Steak Frites and tallow fries! Did I manage to pull out my little scale and weight it without anyone looking?? You bet I did.🤣 There is no shame in my food game.

The beach looked amazing today too btw, but it was too windy to sit outside.

We went to get my blood work drawn early this morning, and they have moved LabCorp, so I guess it can wait because we were starving and not prepared to have to drive completely across town. I could probably do a walk-in anytime this week, but I decided I’d rather not chance having to wait all day and just made an appointment for next week.
Medical stuff is never fun or easy, but it’s a blessing to get those things done. I always remind myself that my mother‘s disease was 100% treatable if she had caught it in time. I made a promise to her that I would get checked regularly, and that I would do the same with the children.
Gary goes back to work tomorrow after having a nice little five day break so I’m glad we got to get out and about today for a little bit.
We did our regular zip through TJ Maxx, and he wanted to run in Home Depot to look for some kind of clamps that go to the pool. I guess we’ll be getting that ready before we know it.
Always something to do- always projects- that’s just part of being a homeowner.
Next weekend, if it’s dry, we’ll be repainting our shutters and porch. It just looks dingy out there to me. I’d like to spray our rocking chairs as well. The Florida sun is hard on paint.
I have to say I’m very excited thinking about spring being around the corner. It has been a very cold and wet winter. It’s actually in the 70’s all this week and it’s such a great tease!
I guess that’s all the news I have to tell. I hope everyone is having a great week!!
