New Chapter

Well, I’m better. Whatever was going on with my disc and sciatic nerve has just ceased to exist. I have no idea what to think, but I am so thankful and I give all the glory to God.

I kind of feel like I’ve been in a car wreck or something, but I am totally without nerve pain. Being in the bed most of the day is hard on your body AND your mind. No thanks!!! My feet are even kinda tender from not walking much for the last 12 weeks. Thank goodness I’ve been doing core exercises throughout this ordeal, otherwise I’d be in pitiful shape.

One thing that I know has helped is following physio recommendations. Gary does this thing where he holds my leg up at a 180 degrees while I’m flat on my back and slowly pushes back until I say stop. He holds it there about 45 seconds and then he grabs my calf and lifts straight up until my back and butt are up off the floor. It is the best thing I’ve done bc it stretches my piriformus and aligns your back. It’s the best stretch by far.

So, now I have to put in the work and get my stamina built back up. I’m going to do leg weights on the bench and start walking outside and use my walking pad when needed. One day at a time! I’m so thankful!!! ✋🏼🤚🏼
