This was my meal and fast pattern for 3 days.

I ended up doing 17 hr fasts the last 2 days because I lost track of time.
I had enough rotisserie chicken, beans and Goodles to make exactly 3 meals (one for each day). 🙌🏼 It had 70 grams of protein so all I had to do is have a protein drink and a kind bar a few hours after my meal. It held me over and I got my 100g of protein!
I haven’t let myself weigh bc I want to weigh in once a week.
Tomorrow I’ll do a 12 hr fast and two small meals and increase my 1600 calories to 1900. Then this weekend I’m going to enjoy my Anniversary with my sweet husband and we’re going out for a lovely dinner and I’ll start back on 16:8 on Monday. Our Anniversary is actually tomorrow but we are celebrating Saturday night. 🤍 I’m looking forward to it.
Ironically our sermon yesterday was about Fasting and Feasting. I haven’t been fasting for religious purposes, but it really resonated with me about how much more we enjoy things when we don’t OVER do them and allow ourselves to really get hungry for them.
Our appetites become our Masters if we aren’t careful and that isn’t just related to food.
Those who say that Christianity is only about making people feel guilty for pleasure are wrong. Your instructor at the gym will probably ask you to give up more things than Christ does. God is trying to save us from things that destroy us and don’t sustain us. I’ve seen a lot of people buried young from the inability to have self control in life.
Gary was really moved by it too and has decided to fast for 48 hrs. I can’t because of some of my medications, but I have no doubt he’ll stick to it. He’s going to fast and focus on scripture and the book of Matthew when Jesus was led into the wilderness.
So anyway, it was good food for thought- pun intended. 😆 I’m going to try to focus on that when I want to give in.
