Ok, I’ll be doing a few tests for comparison, but today I went back and forth on whether I wanted to preheat my Bread Oven. I know it can be hard on the cast iron and enamel over time, but I have great success with my Dutch oven being hot, so I was torn.
In the end I decided to follow what their website suggested and I put it in cold.
So here’s the result:
On left, is my bread oven that went into a 450 degree preheated oven in my bread vessel cold. And on the right is a 450 degree preheated Dutch Oven.

Both went in for 30 minutes covered and then 18 minutes uncovered. Internal temp 208.
Pretty clear results. So no more preheating my vessels. That will reduce a lot of fingertip burns too!
