    Brown Sugar Recipe

Here’s another thing you can make at home and it’s super simple. INGREDIENTS Mix in your food processor until it’s blended well. Store in a glass jar with a tight lid. It will last about a month, so don’t make too much at one time! That’s it. It’s that easy.

How do I get my Hydration Percentage?

If you’re confused whether or not you are using a high or low hydration method or recipe, here is how you find out. It’s actually very simple. Your hydration is the total amount of water in grams , divided by the flour amount in grams, and then multiplied by 100. That is the hydration percentage…

    Best Apron Ever!

I cannot wait to get this beauty in the mail. It was so hard to decide which one I wanted but I settled on the Roses. I use smocks for baking and for gardening, but I might be a little protective of this one. 🌷 Shop hedley & bennet 🌼

    Sourdough Sandwich Bread

This Sourdough Sandwich Bread came out so good and it was SO easy. What you need: Ingredients: Toss everything into the mixer EXCEPT the flour, give it a quick mix and let it sit until the yeast is frothy on top (I use fast acting yeast so it was like 5 minutes maybe). Add the…

Y’all! Here’s the follow up from the Pickle Bread! It smells so good!!! I can’t cut into it for 4 hours, but I’ll snap a pic when I do. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

    Pickle Bread

We have chopped Whole Dill Pickles, Dill Weed, Feta, and Cabot’s Seriously Sharp Cheddar. Yummm!!!!! Pickle Juice went into the dough as well, so it should be VERY picklish! It has to rest overnight so I’ll post the finished bread tomorrow.

    Follow Up

Here’s the follow up on the Recipe that I posted here. It definitely produced a nice bread with a deliciously soft inside. It’s a recipe I’ll try again, BUT, I really like my go to recipe best. It just works for me.🩵

    Common Sourdough Q & A’s

Do I need to put ice cubes in my Dutch Oven before baking ? No. In fact, I found that it produced too much steam and make a thicker crust. Your DO should provide enough steam. Not only that, but if the ice hits the oven door it can shatter the glass. Some have reported…

    Amazon Must Haves for Sourdough

I asked myself earlier what it was that I really needed to know when I first started down this rabbit hole. What did I really need to get started? And now looking back, what I didn’t.  So here’s a few things I can share. You do not need a mixer. My husband offered to purchase…

Let’s Try It! New Sourdough Recipe

My sweet friend and I had a long “sourdough convo” last night and she wants me to try her adjustments to her measurements. She says she’s getting great results.. so, we’re gonna give it a go! Here’s what she sent me: I’ll post later with the results 🙂

    Jenny’s Sourdough

Let’s bake some bread!!! I cannot do 2-day sourdough. It’s a crazy amount of time to spend on making a loaf of bread. SO, this is what I’ve found works for me and my crazy life. Before I start, note that this recipe makes 2 loaves. 200g starter 700g warm water. Stir well and let…

    Get your Starter Started!

The first thing required to begin on this Journey is a healthy Sourdough Starter. There are a million ways to go about this, but I continuously remind myself that our ancestors made bread by candlelight with very little resources. Let’s don’t overcomplicate every thing. I do prefer to use a scale when baking, because volume…
