New Age and Spirituality
This may be a touchy subject, but I don’t care. It’s my blog. This is something that had a big effect on our family and few years ago and I have such deep feelings about it. It breaks my heart when I see people trying to become spiritual through new age practices and Astrology. They…

JENNIE!! I didn’t know you went through this!! My DIL got into that twin flame mess and ruined her and Jacob’s marriage. It is so sad for the kids. All her crystals and energy. I told her they must not work too good bc she’s broke and couch surfing and girl they had everything. Jake is done with it. He filed for divorce in July and he’s already got the kids. We need to talk one day. She really thought she had super powers. She lost her mind.

It took me a second to realize who wrote this! Hah! Did it ask for your name to post? It keeps defaulting to anonymous. Anyway, that’s very sad! I had heard some things from Gary, but I don’t know her. It’s a very popular thing right now because it gives people a sense of feeling important and it’s all “me me me”. They serve self instead of Christ. It’s a lot of empty promises. I really hope she gets her life together for the sake of the girls. Keep praying about it.

I love these. I’ve tried pretty much every kind of eye patches they make because I have such bad dark circles under my eyes (I’ve had them since I was a kid). I can’t tell that anything really helps that much, so I’m never consistent with it, but these feel so hydrating that I actually…

I’m not ready.
I was going to decorate for fall today, but… I don’t really wanna. I’m probably going to be super minimal this year with decorating. Gary likes most things fall, but he absolutely hates Halloween. He won’t even let the kids have anything with skulls on them. Gage wanted a jacket that had a skull on…

Sorry babe. It’s the dumbest holiday we celebrate. 🤷🏻♂️ Why would I want my kids looking at scary stuff and worshipping death? No thanks.

Kombucha
Gary picked up several kinds of Kombucha for us to try. I don’t hate it. We tried the Grapefruit and Tangerine today. He loves grapefruit, so he liked it more than I did. I like eating grapefruit, but maybe not as much as a drink. It’s a lot of probiotics though, so I’m down. I’ll…

It’s just as important as combating fear. Maybe more. You’ve gotta get so anchored in life and your faith, that other people’s chaos doesn’t bother you. You’ve gotta be so anchored that this insane world doesn’t affect your day to day life. 🤍 🤍 🤍 🤍

Ok ok..
I’m sorry for all the long winded personal posts. Actually, I don’t really know why I’m apologizing, it’s my blog. If you don’t want to read it, you are not forced to be here. ☺️ I love to look back and see posts about life and see how much things have changed. This morning there…

I can’t believe I have to even say this in response to the following post, but I was joking. (No I didn’t actually google it. I mean I did, but only to take a ridiculous screenshot to reply to his ridiculous question). 🙄 It’s called joking, which is often followed up with bantering. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ Me…

Good Stuff!
I am so impressed with Gary’s new job. He came home with a gorgeous pair of Carhartt boots, a Carhartt Fire Resistant winter coat and they gave him a THOUSAND dollar voucher for new office casual work clothes. (He gets that twice a year). They even buy his socks and underwear. 😳 He’ll get another…

Dark colored Hooch?
Keep or Toss? You’ll get a million different responses to this, but I’m gonna say no. I’ve yet to have a starter go bad, BUT.. I recently tried stirring that thick hooch back into one of my mini starter jars (it was stored in the fridge for 3 weeks) and it took me 4 days…

Goodbye 👋🏼
Finally getting rid of these bins in the kids closets! They served a good purpose for a long time but good riddance. I hate cleaning them out. We have a guy coming Tuesday to put some built in shelves in the kids closets and give us an estimate on a TV cabinet for the sunroom.…

Summer Skies Starbucks
Mr. Alcina picked this up for me on his way home and I give it a 5/10. I’m kinda picky about boba tea. It was also 9$ and that’s ridiculous. I prefer to buy tapioca pearls and add them to my matcha and almond/coconut milk. This is way too sweet. I ended up giving it…

Go Crazy 🤣 Wheat vs. Sourdough
Those of you who are in my Florida Sourdough group, this hopefully helps clear up that crazy argument. 🤣 I didn’t comment but I deleted the thread when she got belligerent and I booted her. 🤣 Y’all went off though. Anyway, this is similar to what was trying to be conveyed. “Sourdough bread has similar nutrients to…

Men in the Kitchen
My husband has many lines he uses on me, and I feel like a lot of y’all can relate. 🤣 I don’t know what it is, but he can not and will not leave me alone when I’m cooking. 🤪 I’ll have to add to this list as time goes on, but here’s some of…

What a time…
I have no desire to figure people out anymore or why they think the way they do or continue to do the things they do. We’re all living in this insane world and I don’t have time to partake in people’s emotional rollercoasters, midlife crises or manic episodes fueled by politics, religion, marital issues, stress,…

The best!
I clean my oven and stove well after each use, and I normally use the Pink Stuff, but Gary grabbed this and it’s SO good!!!!! It doesn’t streak my stainless or glass and it easily wipes off stubborn sourdough spills that quickly turn into GLUE. I’ll definitely be buying this from now on.

Ham and Cheesy Potato Casserole
I try not to post too many recipes that are full of processed food, but this Mama needs really quick and easy meals sometimes. This was the perfect Friday Night meal for us. Ingredient List: Preheat oven to 400. Add 1/2 stick of butter to a frying pan and cook ham until it’s good and…

Because, Science!
My pickled Okra that I posted the recipe for today, is turning my fresh garlic bright blue. 🤯😍 Just a note and I will add this to my recipe as well- Garlic goes through lacto-fermentation, which produces lactic acid. Even this acid has the possibility of reacting with the garlic, producing an unusual bright blue…

Shoes ✅ Both kids got a white and black pair of slip-on converse (with the round toe NOT the classic narrow) and they are totally happy. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 That was too easy. They can rotate them and they’ll also have all their other crocs, hey dudes etc. Now Harper needs just needs new Birkenstocks and I’m…

This always happens when we go shopping for kids shoes. I can’t help it.. I will always spring for Birks. I wear my white ones and my beige canvas ones all year round. I don’t care about seasonal rules. 🤣

Cold Proofing/Retard
This is always a question when people start sourdough. Here’s a few reasons to cold retard. 1. It gets much more sour. 2. Yeast begins to get really slow and the good bacterias begin to eat the sugar, which drops the glycemic level. 3. As the sugars lower, it becomes much easier to digest. 4.…

How Clean is your water?
I have been extremely successful with my sourdough starters by simply using my filtered water from my fridge, but I decided to test it just in case. You can grab a PPM (parts per million) tester on Amazon for 12$ and they’re extremely accurate. We restated several bottled waters and our tap and they were…
