Today was a Good Day!
God is so Good. I forget sometimes how good he is because I’m a wretched human and a sinner. It’s hard to stay in his word when you’re frustrated or hurting and the world has so many other things fighting for your attention. But whatever we’re facing, he wants to face it WITH us. My…

I pray for my family every night when I’m going across the bridge. I pray for your healing and protection. Seeing the sunsets make it hard to forget to pray. Love you baby.

Ok, if you follow my TT you know I’ve been searching for a show to wear in the house for recovery. I tried Nikes recover sandal (The Calm) and OOFOS Luxe Slide. The Calm was hard and offered little comfort, the OOFOS slide was very nice but… so not my style regardless of their popularity.…

Back to School and rehabing at Home
7th grade and 5th grade here we come! Schedules have been obtained and they’re as prepared as they’re gonna get. I have a few more shoes and clothes coming for them, but we are basically done! Having to do everything mostly online this year was much easier than I expected. I’m looking forward to getting…

It’s hard to believe it’s back to school time already! I have suffered with sciatic nerve pain for years, so I know what you are going through, Jennifer (though I have never had it completely lay me out, like it has, you.) Being on my feet eight hours a day at work is really painful. I found this doctor on fb and the stretches he demonstrates really help me a lot. I have also tried some of the other things, like the ones for stiff neck, which I wake up with often, and the ones to help you sleep better at night. Maybe some of these will help you, too.
-
I will sure try them! Ive tried several nerve glides and stretches but some of them made it worse.😭 I’ve never felt anything like this. I worked retail for years and I would get back pains pretty badly, and I had sciatic pain in my hips at the end of my pregnancies but this has been the strangest thing! It’s mostly in my calf and top of foot and occasionally I feel it in my hip and back. Everyone keeps saying is likely my L5 with that nerve path. I’m just at a loss as to what to do at this point. 😭

Jean I just started reading on his website and I like his approach already bc he’s talking inflammatory!! I suffer from inflammation since going into perimenopause and I do think it’s made this worse. Thank you! I will be listening to all of his suggestions!

What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it? Probably Bascoms chop house. It was a little over 400$ for the 4 of us. It was amazing though. We splurged on a bottle of wine and tried several things on the menu. The stuffed mushrooms were amazing.

List 30 things that make you happy. Oooh I love this one. 30 is a lot, so that means we can focus on little things and little things are wonderful. These will be no particular order though.

Whew!
Happy Saturday. I spent mine rehabbing my compressed nerves. Sciatica is very frustrating, but I know it could be worse and I am feeling much less tingling and nerve numbness. I’m sleeping better too. Gary put our guest bed in the living room, which would normally make me insane.. but it has been so nice!!…

Talked to my friend tonight who has been battling a lot of difficult things and she sounded so much better. She sounded so hopeful and like her old self again. You know, people will try so many thing to feel good.. Meditation, psychics, crystals, yoga, healing baths, self healing books, therapists, drugs, alcohol, self help…

How would you describe yourself to someone? I’m like everyone else. I’m uniquely made and designed. I’m creative, talkative, a weird mix of outgoing and a bit of a homebody. I have strong beliefs about why I’m here (on Earth), how I got here and where I’m going when I leave here. I will follow…

Write about a random act of kindness you’ve done for someone. Helping someone with some startup money for a small business after Covid. Never wanted it back. She’s still at it and she’s thriving. Helping someone get a song produced that deserved to be doing great things.

Sciatica Must Haves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well, I have to share because a very small, but powerful machine has brought so much relief to my sciatica this week. My husband, being the sweet and natural caregiver that he is, purchased me a knee scooter, a badass hot pink walking cane, and a Tens Unit machine to help me rehab my compressed…

I really let political stuff wind me up. I think it’s because I used to be such a pushover and most of my life I was so scared to talk about things like that. I need to work on how much I let it affect me. It’s probably mostly my hormones anyway. 😭🤣🤣🤣

Gary sent me this earlier and it made me weep. DIVINE:Jesus died at 33. The human spine has 33 vertebrae. The same structure that holds us up is the same number of years He held this Earth. We have 12 ribs on each side. 12 disciples. 12 tribes of Israel. God built His design into…

Back to School
Whew. I am done with school shopping! Miss Norah had some very particular things she wanted this year and it made it a little harder. She wanted black Eva Lift Converse, which we couldn’t find anywhere locally, but I found them on the Converse website, which I should have just done from the beginning, and…

What’s your go-to comfort food? Probably Spaghetti. We ate spaghetti a lot when I was growing up bc it was Jay’s favorite. He was a really big eater when he played football in high school, so my Mom would make huge pots of spaghetti at least once a week. I don’t make it very often…

If you were forced to wear one outfit over and over again, what would it be? Probably my Duluth overalls. I have a few pairs (shorts and pants) and they’re so soft and cute. It’s my go to outfit when we go somewhere casual, and always paired with white converse or my birks.

How is it Sunday already?
This weekend flew by fast! We spent ours school shopping mostly. I’m also married to a Louisiana boy who loves UFC so of course we spent last night watching Dustin Poirier’s last fight. Such a humble, classy guy. 🙌🏼 What a great career.

What foods would you like to make? I want to make homemade marshmallows and marshmallow fluff. I’d also like to make Beef Wellington. That’s two things I always talk myself out of trying because they intimidate me. I failed twice at making marshmallows. They still tasted great but they weren’t fluffy or anything like I…

Dogs or cats? Dogs. I’ve never been a cat person, but we got a cat for our daughter a few years ago and Gary and I were both highly allergic to her. I’m also not a fan of how they smell and shed. I can walk in someone’s house and immediately know if they have…

Yes! Norah Harper’s kitten was the sweetest thing ever, but she made us both soooo sick. Thankfully we had the nicest people take her. I’m allergic to their hair and it was EVERYWHERE! It took me 3 months to stop “feeling” her being here. She was the cutest thing though!

Big Brother
We are back to watching Big Brother this season and I’m already hooked! I decided since I’m injured and still have weeks of not moving around much I’d become a summer night owl and sign up for the live feeds again this year. From 10pm- 6am the house guests are pretty active. It’s fun seeing…

Are you seeking security or adventure? Security 100%, no hesitation. I had enough adventures in my 20s to last a lifetime. By the time I was 30, I’d lived in 7 different states. Now, I love being settled and a little bit of a homebody. We’re blessed to live in a place people vacation to…

List 10 things you know to be absolutely certain. Jesus saves. Period. No footnotes needed. Kids grow up too fast If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy. Laughter really is medicine. Bonus points if it’s over something petty. Pain teaches you patience. God’s timing > your timing. Even when it feels like He’s running late.…

Sobering Truth
I have a word for someone who might be struggling with alcohol, or addiction. I felt it in my spirit to say this.. Don’t confuse not caring with being happy when you’re drinking. It’s two completely different things. Alcohol might numb things or quiet the noise for a bit, but it doesn’t make life better.…

Gage & Gary
I overheard them talking while they’re playing some game. Gage: Dad do you think our dogs will go to heaven too? Gary: I do. I have no doubt. Gage: how do we know for sure there’s a heaven? Gary: Well, you just know it when you know it, just like you know you’re breathing or…
