Whew! I did it.
This was my meal and fast pattern for 3 days. I ended up doing 17 hr fasts the last 2 days because I lost track of time. I had enough rotisserie chicken, beans and Goodles to make exactly 3 meals (one for each day). 🙌🏼 It had 70 grams of protein so all I had…

Thank you, but I have to work really hard at it. I lost a lot of weight a few years ago after a struggle with depression but I was in such a strict diet that I was miserable, so obviously I gained it all back.
This is my attempt to get it off again and find ways to balance my love for food but also have a healthier lifestyle. Eating at home more and limiting fast food is the biggest thing.. if I didn’t do anything but that it would be good!

That honestly helped me decide to get this house, because I had a tiny linen closet in our house in Tampa. I kept comforters and sheets vacuum sealed under our bed! 😆

Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done. My linen closet. I need to get rid of so many blankets and sheets. I just want the bare minimum of what we need in there so I can actually see what I have and easily find stuff. I’m gonna do that today. I really am.…

Happy Monday! 🤍
It’s a beautiful new week! I feel good today. I woke up feeling grateful and blessed this morning. My heart feels really light and I love that. We laughed so hard this weekend and just had the best family time. That is so cathartic. Laughter is so healing. It was really fun weekend. It just…

My Sourdough Friends:
I’m having so much trouble finding Flaky Sea Salt and Thai Rice Flour locally. I grabbed these off of Amazon and they’re both really great. The rice powder isn’t Thai, but it’s made in the US and the salt isn’t as “flaky and thin” as I like for a finishing salt, BUT it’s harvested in…

What’s your favorite thing to cook? If you follow my blog that’s obvious. 🤣 I love my Sourdough and pretty much anything Cajun or Creole. I baked this pretty last night. It’s for one of my husband’s clients. He’s always telling people I bake sourdough, so it keeps me busy! And again, my second favorites…

What would you do if you won the lottery? I’m not sure. I know a lot of people I would help, and we’d give a lot to the church. I don’t know if I’d move, or we’d just turn this into our dream home. I love our location. Maybe buy the land across the street…

My Norah Harper 🤍

That’s awesome! I have a cousin that coaches HS wrestling. I never played a sport at school and I wasn’t any good at softball, because my eyes are so bad. I couldn’t see the dang ball lol
High school football is SO fun! My brother played so we went to a lot of games. Even if Gage never plays HS football, I still want to go to their games bc it’s just so fun!

I look back so fondly on those days. The years the football team did well and extended the season we sat through many games in snow and cold but I really loved it! I knew nothing about wrestling before he joined the team, and thought, oh, well, okayyy, not expecting to enjoy it but I think I liked watching his wrestling matches even more than the football games. At least they were indoors, lol. After he graduated and left for college I felt so lost without my sports!

I bet! Things like that really become a big part of our lives. My best friend’s daughter is about to graduate and she is dreading it, bc basketball is their family thing. You meet a lot of people and it’s fun to cheer for a team. I totally get it! I could definitely be a sports Mom. Gage doesn’t show a lot of interest at this age but a lot changes in middle school. He’s really fast and his PE Coach has tried to get him into track, but he’s gotta want to do it. I’m glad you have find memories of it. Your son is lucky too, not all parents show up for their kids! He’s blessed.

They may not say so, but it really means so much to them and I wouldn’t have missed out on it for the world. I remember one dual meet that was in a town about 35 minutes away. We’d had a bad snowstorm so my son told me “Don’t even go. The weather is crap and I’m gonna get humiliated anyways.” He was up against the other team’s star wrestler in his weight class. In the upset of the century, my son won! I still kick myself for missing that.

It’s life changing. It makes you unshakable. When your Joy comes from God, it cannot be stolen, because it’s not from this world. But even so, I have to get up everyday and remind myself of that and shake off the worldly things that cause us to be anxious. It doesn’t mean everyday is a…

Crazy Morning!
The kids and I woke up at 7:15 and we’re usually up at 6:45. I completely forgot to set my alarm last night so we were rushing and we missed the bus. Right as we turned we saw the back of the bus pull off. Luckily my neighbor Florence hadn’t left yet, so she dropped…

Sunday Sermon 1-26
Today’s sermon was about being equally yoked—not only in marriage but in relationships in general. This is something I think about a lot. I often get confused about what I’m supposed to do in certain situations. For instance, I have a good friend who is in active addiction. I love her very much, but she…

Thank you so much! I wasn’t a drinker like my Dad or brother, but I cut it out of my life bc it didn’t add anything positive to it and it was a form of self medicating for me. I’m much happier without that crutch! And you’re so right.. I’ve got to stick to my boundaries. I think I’m some situations prayer is more important than anything else we can do that is tangible.

Well, this ended up being a truly historical event! This areas largest amount of snowfall was in 1895. It was 3 inches. I sure hope your children enjoy their snow! Growing up in Western New York State, snow was a given, and it often fell by the foot, lol. A few years ago my son moved his family to Fort Myers to escape the New York winters. They love it there, despite the hurricanes. I wonder if a little New York will come calling on them this week??
-
I know exactly where they are! We used to live in the Tampa Bay area. I don’t think they’ll get snow, but it will sure be cold! We moved into the Florida panhandle (Pensacola) almost 2 years ago. My husband was in the Air Force here and said he always thought it was so pretty and really regretted leaving. So we decided to move here and be a little closer to our families in Mississippi and Louisiana. I have only been to NY once but it was during the winter and such a wonderful experience!

I lived my whole life in NY (upstate, not city) and never thought I would live anywhere else. Then had a major life change about ten years ago and came to Southern OH to sort myself out. I loved it here. All I knew about Ohio until that point was Lake Erie (Cleveland area) but this is a whole different world. The Amish farms and businesses, the unhurried pace of life, the mild winters (up until this year!) Now I can’t imagine living anywhere else. I do like Florida though, the climate and beaches and palm trees 🙂
-
I have only ever passed through Ohio. It’s beautiful though! I lived in PA a few years and I lived very close to the Amish community there.. we used to frequent their restaurants and shops. The older I get, the more I respect that way of life! I could never live in a major city. We live in a neighborhood, but it’s out in the middle of NOWHERE on Escambia Bay. We have sold things on fb market place and people will say they’ve lived here their whole lives and didn’t know this neighborhood even existed. I love that, and I hope it will stay that way. Things change so quickly! I’m glad you found your piece of paradise! We all function better when we feel safe and comfortable in our environments. 🤍

God WILL do it..
Isn’t it wonderful when you outgrow situations and people that are unhealthy? God will actually put compassion in your heart for someone that you one time couldn’t stand if you really let it go and let him. Things that once made you so mad will make you laugh and you’ll wonder why you ever cared…

Culver’s Order
