Well, today was wonderful. The kids are both having a sleepover tonight, so we spent our Valentine’s Day with a bunch of pre-teens. 🙂 It was really fun though. We went fishing and the kids had such a blast.

I think I already mentioned this, but Gary and I made a pact not to get each other valentine gifts but of course we did anyway. 🙄😆

Nothing too fancy though. After Christmas, we have Gary’s birthday and then immediately after we have our Anniversary and then Valentine’s Day. It’s just a lot and neither of us needs anything. He did manage to pick me up these very cute Dolce Vita sneakers that I had tried on, but ended up putting back and then later regretted not getting them- ha ha. He went back and got them and that was very sweet. He even remembered the size, because the 7 was too small!! 😘🙂

And of course he got me some pretty roses. Just in time because my white ones are beginning to die.

Between us, I think my favorite valentine gift was from my sweet Gage. He bought me a single rose at school and sent me this picture from the school bus. It made me cry.

I love him so much. I know he’s getting older and he’s changing, but he loves his mama so much. I love that his friends love me too. They seem so comfortable here and I’m really thankful for that. We really had a lot of fun today with all of them. They’re really great kids.

This was actually Norah Harper‘s first real sleepover. With the exception of our friends that drive down from Tampa every year. They have giggled all day.

There’s too much bad stuff in the world and it really affects our kids. Both of my kids have come to me recently asking questions about things that they’re seeing in the news that scare them. I’m an extremely opinionated person when it comes to politics and I have no problems expressing that to people, but it’s different when I talk to my kids.

I don’t really talk to them about stuff like that because they’re not old enough and it’s too much grown-up stuff. I just try to instill good morals into them, but obviously when they ask questions, I would rather answer them than them get their answers from online or from the masses.

Anyway, not getting into that tonight. I only said that to mention that kids today need more laughter. They need less screen time. They need to enjoy every second of childhood and get out of their rooms.

Zack, Gage, and Jackson put on a rap/rock concert for us tonight. We laughed so hard!! They are hysterical. I really love this age so much. I think I’ve said that about all the ages with my kids!! I just really enjoy my kids. I would rather hang out with them then do pretty much anything else.

I feel the same way about my husband and I guess that makes me pretty lucky. I’m thankful to be in love with so many people in my life, even a few four legged babies.

So..I’m grateful for another love day. Another Valentine’s Day in the books.

I hope y’all had a wonderful day with your loved ones and are enjoying your weekend. ♥️
