You get to build your perfect space for reading and writing. What’s it like?
For me, it would be very open. Lots of light and windows. Organized well. Plants, candles, comfortable pillows, and soft, touchable textures. Bright pops of color. A loveseat with a Murphy bed, a really cozy chair, and cozy blankets tucked neatly away. A small table for my old record player. Minimal, old-world decor. And of course… fuzzy beds for my dogs. 🤍
I’m probably a little clinically OCD, like a lot of creative types. I can’t paint, read, or draw if there’s too much mess. My brain simply cannot settle in chaos.Disorder feels loud to me. Clean, intentional spaces feel quiet and that is where my creativity lives.
My friend Jessie always sends me photos of her art studio and her home, and I’m in complete awe of how immaculate she keeps both. She constantly has people coming and going, yet everything just flows. I think it’s the tidiness and her industrial lighting that makes her spaces feel so perfect.
That would be my dream space: light, airy, clean. A place where nothing is frantic. Where light pours in, air moves freely, and everything has a purpose.
That would be my comfort place where I could let my nervous system exhale.
