Describe a man who has positively impacted your life.

I can think of a few, but I cannot imagine not saying my husband. God fully orchestrated him coming into my life and we both realized that pretty early in our relationship.

It filled so many voids in both of our lives, and it was so random how it all even came about. It’s the most persistent anyone had ever been with me about wanting to be in my life, no matter what that looked like or what it was going to take to make it happen. There was a very intense attraction and there still is. We never really left the honeymoon phase in some ways.

He has also healed a lot of things in me throughout our marriage. Ideas that I had about men, and traumas that I had buried deep inside of me. My father had a lot of demons (fueled by alcoholism) that negatively affected me throughout my life.

I’m fully seen now. I’m fully supported and loved in this relationship. I’m not begging or bartering for his affection, and we do not argue much. Hardly ever.. and after growing up in a home with a LOT of arguing and fighting, I can’t even express what a blessing that is. I used to be very apologetic about EVERYTHING. I had to learn that it was okay to make mistakes and that I didn’t have to be afraid of his reaction to things. I was scared a lot in my life, and that’s a very draining emotion to carry. Fear is debilitating.

I guess when we met we were basically teaching one other how we truly wanted to be loved. I was hearing and seeing him and vice versa. That can only work if you’re able to play both the teacher and the student.

He taught me to love him the way the he loves me, and I’d never loved anyone like that. He’s changed my life so much. I am so thankful to be his bride.
