Well this Thanksgiving will be a little different. It’s just going to be us! I’m pretty excited about that and I think Gary is too. We thought about going to his Aunt Yvonne’s house, but the kids want to stay here. I get it. Yvonne’s get togethers used to be wild bc of all the drinking but they’re older now. They don’t drink anymore, and Josh has 7 kids, so it’s pretty family oriented, and kid based. I love Yvonne. We talk on the phone a lot recently and I enjoy her so much. She’s totally different now that she’s sober. We will try to go visit them soon. They live in Hattiesburg/Purvis so it’s not a bad drive. I think Gary just wants to watch football and put up our Christmas lights.
I think I’m still going to make the big traditional meal for just us. He will be off several days, so it’ll get eaten. I think I’m going to make:
Turkey with butter and white wine.
Coca-Cola Ham
Cornbread Dressing
Mashed Potatoes & Turkey Gravy
Green Bean Casserole
Homemade Gouda Mac N Cheese
Whiskey Pecan Pie
And of course… Sourdough!
I don’t feel totally prepared but hopefully I’ll pull it off!

Wow Jennifer that sounds like quite a feast! And I get it, sometimes it’s just nicer to spend the holiday at home 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to you!
