My husband has been really shook up by Charlie Kirk’s death. I’ve only seen him cry a handful times in 15 years. He sobbed uncontrollably when my Mother died, and he held her hand for hours on end as she was transitioning and leaving this world. He cried many times over my Mom actually, so I guess that’s not true. I’ll rephrase that.. I’ve only seen a few things make him cry. But this really affected him. His voice broke when he told me and his face was so sad. Much like Charlie, I think being a Father is such a huge part of who Gary is, so he was grieving for those children. Likewise, I have also hurt so badly for Erika.
Anyway, Gary was shaving a little while ago and he walked out and just stood here for a few seconds. I noticed tears in his eyes.
I asked if he was okay. He said, “Charlie is going to be a lot like Billy Graham. He’s going to continue to bring people to Christ long after his death. I’ve seen hundreds of his videos in the last few days and my soul feels different. You can feel Jesus Christ in him. I can almost image what it must have felt like to see the disciples executed.”
I agree, and I think that’s why Christians are grieving so much. We’re all part of the body of Christ and when one part suffers, we all feel it. It feels like part of us has died too. And yes, It makes me think of the disciples, and the horrific deaths they suffered for the sake of the Gospel. So pointless, so cruel.
That’s one of many reasons I don’t question if Jesus was real. No story would survive 2000 years if it wasn’t truth. Those men gave their lives because they saw Him. They knew He was real. Do you really think they would suffer like that if they had even a shred of doubt?
Nobody willingly dies for a lie. Nobody gets beaten, stoned, crucified, exiled, and still refuses to deny Christ unless they’ve witnessed the power and miracles of the risen Savior.
Charlie’s death won’t be in vain. Revelations explains how in the last days we’ll be forced to take a stand. Much like separating the wheat from the tare. We are experiencing that now.

When a Shepherd Falls, the Flock Still Follows the Light.
Here’s a short list straight from Scripture about what God says will happen in the last days:
- People will love themselves, money, and pleasure more than God (2 Timothy 3:1–5).
- Mockers will come, scoffing at the truth (2 Peter 3:3–4; Jude 1:18).
- Good will be called evil, and evil good (Isaiah 5:20).
- False prophets and false teachers will rise up (Matthew 24:11; 2 Peter 2:1).
- Lawlessness and wickedness will increase (Matthew 24:12).
- The love of many will grow cold (Matthew 24:12).
- Wars, rumors of wars, famines, pestilence, and earthquakes will grow in frequency like “birth pains” (Matthew 24:6–8).
- The gospel will be preached to all nations before the end (Matthew 24:14).
- Israel will be central in world events (Zechariah 12:2–3; Ezekiel 38).
- The rise of the Antichrist and a global system opposed to God (2 Thessalonians 2:3–4; Revelation 13).
- Christ will return in power and glory to judge and to reign (Matthew 24:30; Revelation 19).

One response to “Thank you, Charlie.”
I don’t know what is gonna happen in this country but I plan to serve my wife and rob hell of everything Satan thought was his. Heaven is going to be crowded.
