“I met my husband when all he had was potential. I bet my whole life on him and won.”
Gary got in from work right when I was waking up so we cuddled in bed for a little bit and watched some old videos of the kids and I was looking at the little apartment we lived in Seminole and our first little house. We were so happy.. Despite all the grief and changes, because cancer is hard on families, we’ve still always been happy.
It gave me a flash back of us standing in the garage at my Moms condo. Gary said (pretty much verbatim) “I know I don’t have anything going for me, but I’ve never felt this way about anyone before and I don’t know what’s happening, but if you’ll come with me, I’ll do whatever it takes to make this work and I swear I will make you proud of me.”
He did and I am. 🤍 I’ll always bet on him because I know exactly what he’s made of..
