Dogs.

I’ve never been a cat person, but we got a cat for our daughter a few years ago and Gary and I were both highly allergic to her.

I’m also not a fan of how they smell and shed. I can walk in someone’s house and immediately know if they have cats. I used to feed my neighbors cats when they were on vacation and she used to always say her house didn’t smell like cats but yes, it did. She was just used to it. They were extremely clean people and she kept a clean home but they do have a smell and she was ALWAYS covered in cat hair, and so was her furniture.

Dogs shed too, but it’s just different. I think mostly because we bathe our dogs often. The hair is clean and it is easy to sweep up and believe me, our retriever SHEDS.

I also really love the loyalty and love that dogs give us. And they make good outdoor companions. I love that my dogs like to swim and walk with us. 🤍
