It’s been a lovely day but I am so tired. We exchanged our Anniversary gifts, ordered takeout tacos and watched a movie in bed tonight. It was perfect.
We were hoping to have a new nephew born on our Anniversary, but he’s having a hard time coming into this crazy world.
Jess let us know last night she was having some complications, and they were concerned bc of the babies breathing or lack there of, but he did have a good strong heartbeat, so they induced her this morning, but he still hasn’t engaged, and isn’t ready. She was at 9.5 cm a few hours ago. They stopped inducing bc her and baby’s heart rates plummeted. So they gave her epinephrine and stopped the epidural drugs a few hours ago.
I’m not sure if they’ll do a c-section or just have her wait it out. We are very anxious to hear. Prayers are certainly welcomed for Jessica and that sweet baby boy.
I had the same issue with Gage. My blood pressure dropped scary low. They were prepping me for a c-section because he wasn’t dropping and I asked the doctor if I could push one more time. I put my feet on Gary’s shoulder and he leaned into me and she yelled “Oh my gosh!!! This baby has so much hair!! Mama keep pushing!!” I could not feel anything below my chest bc they had numbed me for a c-section but he finally came on out. 😄😂
Turned out they had to cut me pretty good, and I had to have a LOT of stitches (which sure hurt later), but I was so glad to see that sweet boy, and I was SO numb I couldn’t feel anything until the next day. It was kinda scary actually. Gary had to do everything for me. It’s crazy though, because they let me go home that next afternoon and I still didn’t even have all my feeling back in my legs.
With Norah Harper I was walking around a few hours later, but they made us stay 2 nights. Completely different experience.
Ahhh… it gives me baby fever. I swear if I had met Gary sooner we would probably have 5 kids. He says all the time he can’t wait to be a Paw Paw. He was so smitten when they were babies. He still is, but he was just mesmerized by both of them. Those were sweet years. 🤍
I went on a nostalgic ramble lol.
Anyway, to bed I go!

Sounds like a perfect anniversary and my prayers are with Jessica and the baby. Your memories of childbirth brought it all back for me. A C section after hours of grueling labor. A mother never forgets!

We sure don’t! Thank you for the prayers, he was born about 2 hours after I posted that. 🤍 All is well with them both. He’s a cutie!
