Today I’m making a basic boule and prepping to make a Muffuletta Loaf. I have missed doing this!

I think once you really get into sourdough it’s kind of hard to quit, because even if you just have a few people that purchase it, you know how much they look forward to it. I also can’t imagine not having it accessible for us, or going back to store bought bread.
I think I’m addicted to the art of it. It’s a beautiful process and I have noticed that most people who get into sourdough are natural nurturers. It takes a lot of time, patience, gentleness and love. I never realized how much of a nurturer I was until I had my children, but I think that’s why I like the process so much. You can’t be neglectful with it, or it will die. You’re on its time; not your own. It is far more forgiving and less temperamental than people realize, (much like our kids), but it does require a lot of care and consistency.
I always try to get people to at least try it, but I do realize that some people just don’t enjoy it and see it as stress. I think it may have overwhelmed me when my kids were smaller? I’m not sure.. or maybe it would have been a fun hobby. I’m not really sure. One thing is for certain, it is not a good hobby for anyone who struggles with procrastination! 🤣 Facts.
